Refreshing to have dependable work done in a timely manner. Josh came to estimate the job a day early! And was available to answer and discuss the project on 2 two follow up phone calls. The crew also communicated a time and were punctual. Bill and partner were respectful and we asked questions through the day. Bill explained the ongoing process and why things were done a certain way. They protected the grass and driveway and cleaned thoroughly when they were done. Bill and partner had to return the next morning for brickwork. Again they were punctual, completed the job and cleaned up well. We are thankful for a job well done and hope the deck stays leveled.

Cody and Ryan the best!!! They repaired large patch driveway and sidewalk that was poured incorrectly and causing water to stand and go into our foundation. These guys are the best! Very nice, professional, and do excellent work!!! A1 is fantastic company will definitely use them for all concrete projects and request Cody and Ryan. They both went the extra mile to make the cleanup easy and look like they've never even had to move things! A+++

They were great. Showed up and took a lot of time to talk through options with us. There was some concern about getting the truck up our driveway (it is a little steep), so the owner came out to our house and drove the truck up himself. It worked, no more porch slab sloping into the house. Thanks.

I had A-1 fix my front step that was sinking and broken away from the porch. The first crew that came didn't complete the job correctly, it was still very uneven. I contacted Josh and he showed up immediately, admitted it wasn't right, and personally took care of it. Though it was a bit of a hassle, they still get four stars due to the great recovery from Josh.

Despite weather related delays for our job, A-1 did an outstanding job. The crew was extremely polite, professional and took great care in their work. We had a driveway repair completed which involved aggregate concrete. They did a beautiful job and it blends seamlessly with the existing material.

We offer foundation repair options to meet your specific needs and budget, including:
Unlike the common helical pier or push pier which is bolted to an exterior wall of your building, we install concentric-style hydraulic push piers to the bottom of your foundation walls. We drive the pipe straight down into the bedrock below while lifting up and anchoring your home or business into a stable position. This allows us to load 220,000 pounds onto each pier, compared to a max load of 120,000 pounds for a helical pier, as well as space piers up to six feet apart, compared to four for helical piers. Translation? You have to pay for fewer piers, potentially saving thousands of dollars.
Compared to carbon fiber straps, which offer a temporary solution, we prefer to bolster sagging basement walls with core filling. This is a process where we snake lengths of rebar into a hollow cinder block wall from the top and bottom through a hole we create in the center. Then, we tie these lengths together with a wire mesh in the center where they overlap, fasten a plate of wood over the access hole, and drill a hole in the top of the wall. We then fill the wall with 3,000 PSI concrete. This provides a permanent solution and is warranted for the life of the structure.
The culprit of leaning basement walls is often water: hydrostatic pressure in the soil pushing on the back, or exterior, of the wall. As a result, we frequently recommend replacing soil around the foundation with rock.
We also offer basement wall reinforcement using steel beams. This involves digging out the base of the wall and placing braces to push against the wall. We then weld half-inch plate steel to the base of each steel beam and bolt that to the concrete floor, running the beams up along the wall and attaching them to the framing of the first floor. Finally, where there are gaps where each beam meets the wall or top of the beam, we install steel shims.
Every homeowner in Middle Tennessee actively battles water and humidity every year (especially in the spring)! That’s why we offer a wide variety of waterproofing solutions to prevent and reverse damage on your house, including:
We grade the land around your home to make the water flow around (rather than through) the house, cutting and contouring as necessary. For example, homes with front yards that slope toward the house may need a drainage swale.
One of our most popular services. We excavate around the house, clean the walls, then install waterproofing dimple boards around the foundation wall of your structure with an aluminum strip that terminates just above the grade. This prevents water from getting behind the dimple board. We run the board down the wall and across the top of the foundation footing, turning down the edge of the footing itself, where we install two runs of footing drain wrapped with filter fabric. Finally, we backfill the area with gravel to ensure a positive flow into the footing drain, eliminating pressure from the previously water-logged soil pushing against the foundation wall.
We are one of the only vendors in the area to offer structural framing services because in our waterproofing jobs, we often find that simply fixing a water issue is not enough. Years (or even months) of damage to wood can result in compromised, crumbly supports that need to be replaced and safeguarded against future damage.
In Tennessee, moisture problems in crawl spaces are the rule, rather than the exception. With high humidity on the outside of your structure and cold air from HVAC inside your structure, condensation is inevitable inside your crawlspace. This generally leads to the ideal environment for mold growth. As the mold feeds on your framing, your framing breaks down, weakening your structure. We offer several solutions to combat this problem.
Long-term exposure of your framing to mold leads it to lose its structural integrity, becoming easy to crush, even with your hand. When framing is less compromised, we offer steel beam reinforcement.
When the damage is so great that it would crumble under the weight of the reinforcements, however, we provide joist, full girder, and framing replacements. If the interior floors of your house are significantly damaged, we also offer demo services, removing damaged carpeting, padding, and subflooring.
When necessary, if you have fungal growth on your framing in your crawl space, we'll treat it to kill the mold on contact and then suggest long-term solutions to keep it from coming back.
Another way to protect your framing is by installing a vapor barrier or “full encapsulation.” This involves covering the floor and walls of your space with heavy-duty plastic sheeting, sealing it off.
We provide preventative solutions that dry out your crawl space, hindering mold growth and protecting your framing. One option is installing a dehumidifier. Similar to the appliance you might have in your basement, it filters water out of the air, lowering the overall humidity in your space.
Our foundation repair, waterproofing, and crawlspace encapsulation warranties each cover the life of the structure, while repairs of crawlspaces and framing and joist repairs, beam and post, dehumidifier, and water solutions warranties are multi-year. Our mold treatment service also comes with a 1-year warranty.
We’re committed to making the repair process easy and stress-free for you. We make sure you understand the work we’re planning, and care for your home as if it were our own.
